BRANCH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

As a UNISON member you are invited to attend the next Bedford Hospital Branch Annual General Meeting on 9^th March, 2012 being held:

11am – 2pm in The Christopher Reeve Room, Post Graduate Centre

A&E Car Park, Bedford Hospital.

Enclosed are forms to nominate Branch Officers, Stewards, Health and Safety representatives for 2012.  Completed forms for Branch Officer Posts must be returned to

by the  2^nd March, 2012.  All UNISON members are entitled to apply for posts.  UNISON has a Facilities Agreement with the Trust for time off for elected Branch representatives.

All activists are eligible for time off from work for training and union activities.  We are a member led union and can only operate efficiently if we recruit activists to represent our membership in the workplace.  We therefore, urge you to consider applying for a post within in your workplace. 

Full UNISON support and training is given to all Branch Officer roles. Information about Branch Officer roles are also attached and will be available at the AGM, along with UNISON education and training details

The AGM is an opportunity to find out more about the branch at a time when jobs and the Trust are facing huge changes and challenges.  The past year has been of the most challenging for members and it is likely that this will continue into next year.

Speakers at the Branch AGM will include Thompsons Solicitors and Bedford against the Cuts. Refreshments and a light lunch will be provided.

Branch is holding a UNISON recruitment event outside the Swannary, Bedford Hospital on 20^th February.  Come and visit the stall to learn more about Branch Officer Roles, the AGM and to enter the Branch Prize Draw which is being drawn at the AGM.
