Unison Bedford Hospital Branch 01427

Thursday, July 30, 2015

I am delighted to send you information about the two very popular UNISON "Women's Lives" and “Return to Learn” courses.  We are just about to start recruiting to this course in your area.

Both courses are fantastic, free opportunities for UNISON members who have been away from learning for a long time.

Women members who have been on the “Women’s Lives” course say:

  • "It has given me some "me" time."
  • "It's been my chance to escape domestic responsibilities for a while."

And those members that have been on both the “Women’s Lives” and "Return to Learn"

  •  “It has built my confidence and self-esteem, at work and in my social life.”
  •  “It’s just what I needed – it’s helped me to keep up with the kids’ homework!”

Both courses are run:

  • in a friendly and supportive environment
  • with the support of a WEA (Workers' Educational Association) tutor who is experienced in working with adults
  • without exams at the end

Information sessions are being held so you can find out more about these courses. At this session you can meet the course tutor and members of the UNISON Bedfordshire team, find out more about the course and sign up to start.

Info sessions for each course will start at 10am until 11.30am and be repeated again between 11.30am and 1pm

Details of the venues for the information sessions are as follows: -

RETURN TO LEARN Bedford Central Library

Saturday 5th September 2015 Bedford

WOMEN’S LIVES UK Centre for Carnival Arts

Saturday 12th September 2015 Luton

If you think you might like to do either of these courses or would simply like more information, then complete and return the tear off slip inside the enclosed leaflet.

The courses will start in September 2015, with groups meeting one Saturday morning from 10am to 1pm per week until early December. The days on which the courses will actually run are:
