The WASPI Campaign, Back to 60, We Paid In, You Paid Out and other women’s pension groups will join together ‘Shoulder to Shoulder’ on 10 October in London in a joint endeavour to secure back their earned dues.

12–3 pm at Reformers Tree, Hyde Park
3.30–6pm at Parliament Square

All women affected by the changes in pension provision are invited to attend.

Confirmed speakers at the Shoulder to Shoulder rally are key figures in the political and legal dispute, including David Hencke, Yvette Greenway, Sam Smethers, Helen Shay and Frances Barber.

WASPI is the Women Against State Pension Equality campaign.  Women born on or after 6 April 1950 are facing financial hardship in retirement as a result of the government’s changes to their state pension age.  Such women have had no time to make alternative arrangements and their plans for retirement have been shattered.  UNISON believes these changes are totally unacceptable and is supporting this campaign by lobbying relevant government ministers and is hoping to pilot a new UNISON women and pensions course for activists this Autumn with LAOS – watch this space!

I am unemployed and should have claimed my pension age 60 two years ago. I have no income. My husband and I have to live off his state pension. We are finding times hard. I worked fir 46 years uninterrupted, never been a burden to the State. I have paid in more than the allotted years yet had my retirement age but back 6 years. I had no time to make provision and am now struggling financially when I should at least have a decent standard of living. The government seem on my to care for the young and those with young families. I paid for the benefits these are reaping. It's a disgrace.
