Closure of Band 1 Update – England                       [England only]

The NHS Staff Council sub group for the Closure of Band 1 has produced some guidance for local partnerships and messages for staff currently in band 1 [HC-102-18]

Talks about new pay progression system for England get underway                [England only]

Staff Council talks have begun to flesh out the new pay progression system that will come in for new starters from April 2019. Existing staff will remain under current arrangements during the three-year pay deal. Branches will need to review their local appraisal policies as these will be a key part of the new system in future [HC-103-18]


UNISON Health Conference 2019                [All Health Branches]      

The 2019 Health Service Group Conference will be held at the Bournemouth International Centre from 9.30am on Monday 8 April until 1pm on Wednesday 10 April. UNISON supports Reading Well programme promoting good health and wellbeing           [All Health Branches]

Branches are encouraged to raise awareness about Reading Well, a programme using reading to positively impact our wellbeing [HC-105-18]


There’s still time to register for the National OT Stewards’ Training Seminar – 7 & 8 November 2018                [All Health/Local Gov’t Branches]

Places are still available on the popular annual training seminar for BAOT Stewards, to be held on 7 & 8 November 2018 at Aston University, Birmingham.  Workshop sessions will include a focus on Pay; the OT Career Development framework; a health and well-being strategy for OT stewards; a guide to the NHS and Local Government pension schemes; training on how to conduct and manage difficult conversations; with more sessions still to be added to the programme.  Branches should encourage their BAOT/UNISON Stewards to register for this useful seminar which will equip stewards with additional skills to carry out their trade union work.
